Coastal Tuscany

When you hear the word Tuscany, you normally think of great cultural towns, rustic farms and undulating countryside. But Tuscany also has several hundred kilometres of coastline attracting millions of beach lovers annually. br>
In the majority of places along the Tuscan coastline there are beautiful sandy beaches which have led to holiday complexes springing up like mushrooms over the past decades. Many of these places enjoy close proximity to a lovely beach, a swimming pool and nearby towns and cultural places too numerous to visit on a typical fortnights holiday. Some of the coastal towns also have apartments for rent in regular apartment blocks where you can live side by side with Italians and not with other tourists. This type of apartment never has a swimming pool but this is compensated by the fact that you don't have to worry about the neighbours understanding everything you say.

A bit further inland but still within driving distance to the sea you can find some older farms which have been converted for tourists. This type of accommodation usually combines beautiful surroundings with a swimming pool and is close to the beach. Needless to say, you have to be lucky as they are often booked up far in advance. We regularly have to disappoint clients who ring at the start of the new year wanting to book for their holiday in the summer.

The island of Elba is also part of Tuscany. The many holiday centres here offer holidays in beautiful countryside a short distance from the beach. There are not as many excursion options here as on the mainland but the countryside and beautiful clear water more than make up for this.

La Cecinella, Cecina Mare
The holiday centre La Cecinella is situated just outside the coastal town of Cecina. The popular wide and sandy beaches are just a short walk from the apartments through the pine woods that front many of the beaches in the area.

Residence Habitat, Marina di Bibbona
The Residence Habitat set in the middle of a large garden, and both a pay beach as well as a free one are within 300 m and reached through a pinewood. Residence Habitat has a reception, bar and a small market. Shops and restaurants are close by.

Borgo degli Olivi, Riotorto
Borgo degli Ulivi is located by the entrance to Riotorto (approx. 100 m), less than 3 km from the sea in the fascinating Maremma. As the name suggests the place is surrounded by olive trees which brighten up the green areas and the garden.

Stella Marina Residence, Cecina Mare
The setting of Stella Marina Residence is located almost on the beach, but if that is not enough there is also a large swimming pool. The place has its own restaurant, playground, small discoteque, bar and parking. In the centre, only 300 m away, there are various shops, restaurants and bars.

Podere La Pieve Vecchia, Riparbella
Podere La Pieve Vecchia is an n old farm dating back to the late 18th century. The now completely restored farm buildings sit peacefully in the Tuscan hills around Riparbella and maintain the old charm and atmosphere of their original state.
