Pineto with its sandy beaches is another ideal Italian holiday destination for the young families.
It is on the Italian Adriatic coast near Pescara. The town is relatively new and has the feel of a holiday resort.
There are a lot of Italian tourists in the summer months, and the town has a market in the evening and an amusement park for children. There is a wonderful long sandy beach, where you can either rent sun loungers and sun umbrellas, or choose to go without on the free public beach.
If you are suffering from the heat, or just want to see something new, you can visit the little town of Mutigniano with its fun wall paintings or the slightly bigger town of Atri. In October till March it is even possible to go skiing in the central Abruzzo at the Gran Sasso mountain. They are both situated up in the mountains behind Pineto and are refreshingly cool on hot days.
