The Aeolian islands have something for everyone: shady gardens scented by jasmine and basil or sun drenched terraces overlooking the sea, and a traditional hospitality and cuisine quite unique to the area.

You get here by flying to Rome, catching a train to Naples or Milazzo and then by ferry. Or fly to Catania, take a taxi to Milazzo and carry on by ferry; the trip between Catania and Milazzo costs approx. 80 euros depending on which company you use (In-Italia can help to arrange transfers payable on site).

When staying on the islands it is possible to hire a small boat and sail around each island if you do not want to use one of the many commercial sailing trips or ferry routes between the islands.

The hinterland on the islands is also worth a visit: for this purpose bike or moped hire is available on most islands which gives you daily excursions are right on your doorstep.
