Trani

Trani
Trani is a great place to spend a day or two. It has a picturesque fishing harbour and a sophisticated centre. In one of the small restaurants along the harbour front you can enjoy fresh fish caught locally or you can spend time visiting the town’s medieval churches. The town also has many fabulous clothes shops. And if you fancy a swim, the town is renowned for its good beaches.

Alberobello

The name of the town ”the beautiful tree” originates from Sylvae Arbris Belli and refers to the large oak woods, which once covered the whole region. Alberobello is quite unique. Although the town is small, approx. 9000 inhabitants, the image of the town is characterized by the Trullo, a typical type of house for the area. The town has more than 1500 trullos!

Gallipoli

Gallipoli lies off the Apulian coast and is connected to the mainland by bridge. The town is of Greek origin and the name itself is Greek, meaning ’the beautiful town’. The name suits the old town very well, standing proudly as it does, looking out over the Ionian sea.

Lecce (Lecce)

Lecce
Lecce, with its 90,000 inhabitants, is the historical and financial main city of the Salentine peninsular. The town is especially characterised by its financial and artistic glory days between the 16th to the 18th centuries, which gave it the nicknames “The Florence of the Baroque” and “Athens of Apulia”.

Ostuni

Ostuni is also known as ’the white town’, and when you arrive here, you will immediately understand why. All the houses in the ancient town are white washed, and their flat roofs and colourful shutters are more reminiscent of Greece than Italy. The town lies on three mounds and the highest one has a fascinating medieval centre.

Otranto

There is something very special about the charming town of Otranto. History and nightlife blend seamlessly in all corners of this historical town.
