Holiday in Amalfi
Amalfi is a town of incredible beauty, which has given its name to the whole coastline. Amalfi is the cultural centre of the area – both because of its history and also because of its superb location.
![]() ![]() The town is built on a stunning hillside with many houses built into the cliffs. It is possible to wander in between them along little paths and up and down steps across the cliffs in all directions. We recommend you visit the Sant´Andrea Cathedral and Mulino Rovinato, the most picturesque viewing point in Amalfi. ![]()
![]() The Amalfi coastline is separated from the Sorrento coast by Punta della Campanella. Tall rocks drop vertically to the sea and are decorated with small pretty villages, which mirror themselves in the most fantastic blue water below. Elegant villas and breathtaking gardens can be found along the whole of the coastline. Here relaxation and nightlife come together, and the fertile Mediterranean vegetation and lemon groves relieve each other ending with the steep cliffs down to the sea. The biggest town in the area is Sorrento. ![]() ![]() Back over Punta della Campanella (the name comes from the old lake republics) and we are on the Amalfi coast again. The steep rocks here have been taken over by the locals who have created steps, paths, gardens and terraces. A unique landscape where sea and mountains, agriculture and tourism, delicious produce from the land and delicious fish and shellfish from the sea constantly meet. Several civilizations have left their mark here, including the Greeks, Romans, Arabs and Normans.
