Hiking path Sentieri degli Dei

Hiking path Sentieri degli Dei
The little town of Agerola is the starting point for many walks of different lengths and difficulty. You can choose to walk inland or walk high above the Amalfi coast. All the walks have their own challenges and take you through beautiful countryside and are called “Sentieri degli dei” – the path of the Gods.

Caserta

Casertavecchia is found up above the present Caserta. It is a small medieval village with a cathedral unchanged since the 12th century.

Furore

The small town of Furore got its name from the rage ("furore") of the waves as they buffeted the coast of the small bay, with the old harbour situated at one end.

Monte Gelbison

A walk to Monte Gelbison is a natural choice if you are in the Cilento Nature Reserve. Even before Christ was born, pilgrims from all over the area walked the holy mountain paths up to the Greek temple perched on the mountaintop. The temple’s thick walls can still be admired from the current church’s crypt.

Naples

This city, which is also referred to as the capital of Southern Italy, contains sights for everyone, and is particularly fascinating because of its lively, and at times, chaotic street life, which gives the city a really special atmosphere.

Pompei (Pompeii)

Pompei
This historical town dates back to the 7th or 8th century BC when the Greeks founded a settlement at the mouth of the River Sarno.

Ravello

On the enchanting Amalfi coast, 350 metres above sea level, lies Ravello. Ravello is known as the city of music, La Città della Musica, because every year at the beginning of July the town plays host to a classical music festival here in honour of Wagner.

Sorrento

Famous for its art, poetry, literature, music, dance (tarantella) and first class cuisine (pizza and pasta) Sorrento is one of the most recognized coastal destinations in the world, and the town offers excellent relaxation and calm surroundings.

The Cilento National Park

The Cilento National Park covers 181,000 hectares and is one of Italy’s largest nature reserves. It was founded in 1991 and in 1997 was included on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
