Italy’s capital city – once called caput mundi (head of the world) – is an outstanding city with a comfortable climate and a multitude of fantastic attractions, including the city’s many squares, impressive monuments and marvellous fountains.
The island is just off the coast of Rome and you can reach it by ferry from Terracina and Formia. Ponza and the other Pontian Islands are all volcanic in origin so the coastline is characterised by a dramatic contrast between sky-high cliff formations and wonderful beaches with fine white sand.
