Terracina on the west coast is approximately an hour’s drive south of Rome. The town has thriving arts and crafts, and fishing industries. However, increasing numbers of tourists interested in seeing the Roman ruins and rustic farm buildings, are making their way to Terracina.
The island is just off the coast of Rome and you can reach it by ferry from Terracina and Formia. Ponza and the other Pontian Islands are all volcanic in origin so the coastline is characterised by a dramatic contrast between sky-high cliff formations and wonderful beaches with fine white sand.
