Who would not like to stay up in Bergamo's old medieval Bergamo Alta? The hotel and the restaurant Il Gourmet is up here in a quiet and beautiful neighbourhood just a 5 minute walk from Bergamo's evocative and lively streets with specialty shops and cosy cafes .
Being on the edge of the old town means that the hotel isn't cramped and has plenty of outdoor space. There is a fine outdoor terrace with a garden and free parking. Inside there is a reception, a bar and a pleasant restaurant. There is no elevator in the hotel.
You don't have to go a wandering when hunger calls as the hotel has a cosy restaurant with a fireplace and seating for approx. 150 diners. Here you can eat either a la carte or choose from a set menu at fixed prices, and weather permitting, you can enjoy the food and the wonderful view on the cosy terrace. The breakfast is partially portion served and also served outdoors during the warm months .
The hotel's 10 rooms include one single and nine double rooms, three of which have the option of adding an extra bed. All rooms have air conditioning, satellite TV, a mini-bar, a telephone and a bathroom with a toilet and a shower (two with a bath). The rooms have a nice view towards either Bergamo Bassa (the newer town below), Bergamo Alta, or the hotel gardens.
