Limone is one of the most beautiful towns on
Lake Garda, with a lovely atmosphere and very hospitable locals.
The town has fewer than 1000 inhabitants and the local industries are chiefly fishing and lemons. The latter plays a role in the town’s name, which translated to English means ‘lemon’. Lemons have been growing on this side of the lake since the 14th century, thanks to the mild weather conditions.
It is a well-known resort to many tourists offering pleasant surroundings at a reasonable price. Limone receives about 20,000 visitors in high season, but it doesn’t feel crowded when you are walking along the lakeside promenade or through the narrow town streets.
