Hotel La Bussola has all the ingredients for a wonderful lake-side holiday. Lake Orta is especially charming, being a smaller lake with less tourists, it has managed to retain much of its authentic charm. From the hotel you can easily walk into the centre of Orta San Giulio which is one of Italy's most beautiful medieval towns. You certainly won't regret choosing Hotel La Bussola.
This three star hotel is located on a scenic peninsula on the edge of a historic town on the shores of Lake Orta. It's a short 200 metres down to the lake and approx 500 metres to the centre square Piazza Motta, where a lively market is held every Wednesday. From here you can take a boat trip to visit the enchanting Island in the middle of the lake Isola San Giulio where you can visit a historic monastery. The island is a huge attraction on Lake Orta and you have fine views of it from this hotel. Among the useful amenities you will find private (free) parking, which otherwise is expensive and difficult to find in the area. In addition there is a lift, a large hall with a reception and a bar.
From the large indoor restaurant, you step out onto the large terrace with panoramic views of Lake Orta and Isola San Giulio and the view really is something special. There is plenty of space and good visibility. The breakfast buffet and evening meals are served here. It is possible to book a half-board option to include an evening meal (for a surcharge).
You can enjoy days in and around the large bean-shaped swimming pool in the front of the hotel with views of the lake. There is a footbath which you can use when entering the pool area to ensure good hygiene. There are plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas around the pool where you can while away the hours, relaxing and soaking up the amazing views.
- The rooms vary greatly in terms of layout and size, and they are categorised in terms of their size. The balconies also vary in size but even on the smallest there is still space for a table and two chairs.
