The architect's idea was that the hotel should symbolize the great ocean-going steamers with arches and balconies located on the cliffs. Over the years the hotel has been frequented by many international celebrities (Liz Taylor, James Brown, Antony Queen, and others). In 2003 the hotel was completely renovated and refurnished in an elegant but simple style.
When you arrive at the parking lot on site, you won't sense the greatness of the place and the splendour of the views that await you immediately. It all seems a bit messy and not very well maintained, but as soon as you enter the hotel grounds and into the hall, the atmosphere is totally different.
The impressive view of Capo Caccia catches your breath from the very beginning, and it's a sight that you can never tire of. From the reception hall, there is a large terrace and steps down to the beautiful, circular swimming pool with water massage. From here is another staircase that leads down the cliff to a platform with deck chairs and umbrellas and even a pool. The pools are filled with seawater. Guests will find a sauna and Turkish bath at the hotel.
The hotel has a large restaurant that seats 240 people with views towards Capo Caccia - and you can also enjoy their meals under the stars on the outdoor terrace. The restaurant serves fresh seafood and traditional dishes from the country. It is open to outside guests, and sometimes wedding parties are held here, especially on Saturdays. This is an exciting opportunity to get close to an Italian family event.
The bay at the hotel is closed to general water traffic, and is only open for the hotel's own boat to enter. If you are interested in diving, this a wonderful place to do so, and there is the opportunity to go diving and explore exciting caves. General swimmers can enjoy snorkelling along the rocks in the crystal clear waters.
