Scafa is on the road between Borgo San Gregorio by the beach and the old town of Naso in the Nebrodi mountains. No matter where you are in Scafa, the views over the sea and the Aeolian islands are stupendous.
The little fishing village of Borgo San Gregorio is idyllically situated on the northern shores of Sicily. It consists of a few fishermen’s cottages occupied by the locals.
In the Nebrodi mountains on the road from Capo d’Orlando to Randazzo and Mount Etna you find Castel’Umberto. The northern shores are approximately 25 minutes drive away and it takes an hour to drive to the slopes of Mount Etna.
Capo d’Orlando offers no ancient ruins, medieval churches or Baroque palaces. Instead you find a well-run town with a pulsating nightlife and everything you could want for a longer stay in Sicily.
This island with its smoking volcanic pools and bubbling sludge resembles a relic from some distant past. The impressive crater rises 386 meters, and can be easily and safely viewed from the top where you can see the two harbours to the east and west.
Taormina is situated on the picturesque mountain slopes of Sicily’s east coast. From the town, you have spectacular views across the Messina Straits as well as of the mighty volcano Etna.
Catania is the second largest city in Sicily. It lies at the southern foot of Mount Etna, the so-called friendly volcano, which can be seen from all over the city.
