This town is known as Lake Garda’s northern treasure. The town has been inhabited since prehistoric times and still bears signs of the Roman era. Today the town is the biggest on the northern coast of the lake and as well as being a tourist magnet, has its own active business life.

There are several first class hotels with all the facilities you could need here in the town. There is also a congress centre, numerous restaurants and shops, mountain bike hire and a horse-riding centre nearby. There are a number of great restaurants down in the old town and several on the way up to Lago di Tenno, as well as a fantastic one in Arco, which is 4 km north.

Riva del Garda makes a good base for trips to Lake Iseo, Lake Tenno, Lake Ledro, Lake Toblino and excursions to the Dolomites. We recommend a trip to Cascata di Varone, a waterfall about 3.5 km from the town centre.
