This enchanting mountain town has a few restaurants and a supermarket, and more of the same in the smaller mountain town of Moso located approx. 2 km to the south.
Sesto is located in the German-speaking Alto Adige region of northern Italy and is called 'Sexten' locally. This leads to some cultural variations, namely that the restaurants are open earlier than usual Italian restaurants which is a benefit for families who wish to eat dinner as early as 18.00 hours.
This area is therefore multilingual and here they are mostly fluent in both Italian and German, and some have also mastered English. The people in this area are most organized and you can expect good advice and information on the surroundings. Just one hour south of here in Cortino in the Veneto region, things look quite different with the mother tongue being exclusively Italian, and meal times are dominated by typical Italian culture.
