While most people have heard of Venice and Verona, sadly too few are aware of Vicenza.

With its central location in the Veneto and its proximity to Padova, Venice, Verona and Lake Garda, you would think that this town would enjoy its fair share of visitors. When you consider the town’s beautiful buildings and friendly atmosphere, its quiet existence becomes even more difficult to understand.

You won’t find as much evidence of ancient or medieval times here in Vicenza as in Verona. However, the town’s plethora of buildings from the 15th to the 18th century more than compensates.

A large part of the town centre is almost completely car-free, and the multitude of exclusive shops, beautiful cafés and great restaurants makes this town well worth a visit.
