Chianciano Terme is about 60 km south west of
Siena, close to the western banks of
Lake Trasimeno. The town is directly accessible by motorway and rail.
Chianciano Terme is famed for its spas, and this is the reason for the enormous number of hotels in the town. There are nearly more hotels here than there are in
Florence! The pleasant climate, fresh air and the fantastic location (close to Cetona,
Montepulciano,
Orvieto,
Pienza and
Lake Trasimeno) make it a great town to stay in. Oak, beech and chestnut forests surround the town and there are also plenty of green parks and gardens right in the centre, where the majority of the spas and restaurants are.
