Even in Tuscany, where beautiful buildings are everywhere, Villa Buoninsegna stands out as something unique and impressive; one could almost describe it as majestic.

The big villa is 16th century, and today it has been renovated to a new glory. It is almost humbling to approach it, but once you meet the kind owners who live here themselves, you start to relax. On ...the first floor of the villa there is a large room with 10-15 m high ceilings with a fantastic coat-of-arms painted in the middle. In the corners from this there are six splendid rooms all designed in excellent taste with antique furniture.

All the rooms are spacious, and have wonderful views over the landscape. From the first floor there is a bridge leading over to the hill behind the villa. Here is the swimming pool, 12 x 6 m. The owners however felt that one pool was not enough for the six rooms and four apartments, so they have constructed another one, 7 x 14 m. The old farm buildings next to the villa have been converted to four apartments, also furnished with antiques, and with table and chairs just outside the door. By the way, there are proper wine glasses in the apartments, perhaps due to the fact that wine is also produced on site.

The villa is surrounded by 320 hectares of land with vineyards, olive groves and woodland, which gives plenty of opportunity for shorter or longer walks. If you want cafés and the like, Rapolano Terme is only two kilometres away. The motorway connecting Siena with Cortona and the rest of Umbria runs approx. 700 m from the villa making it easy to plan longer and more exciting excursions.

- Situated in the main building on the ground floor. It consists of two bedrooms with double bed, bedroom with two single beds, living room with kitchenette and large fireplace. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. There are high vaulted ceilings and the apartment is furnished with many antiques. It has its own outdoor area with table and chairs outside the entrance.
