The main city in Umbria is the ancient and royal city of Perugia. The city has a unique structure with its old Etruscan and Roman acropolis situated on top of a hill. From here you can take a walk down through history amidst the medieval buildings along the road.
Orvieto lies on a rocky plateau north of Rome. Because of its location on an remote cliff face, the town has developed peacefully, and over the past 3,000 years, there has been so much construction that the town today consists of several layers.
