Gargano in the northern part of the region is a large nature reserve offering impressive scenery with a rich and varied flora and fauna.
Dauno is another nature reserve forming a kind of transition to the Apennines. Undulating countryside is a feature of this area, but in some places you find heights close to 1200 meters.
