Masseria Cardillo is an impressive estate that was restored in 2001. The old hayloft and farmhouse has come alive again through a simple and elegant conversion of the spacious rooms.

On entering the big shared living room you will be impressed by its elegance and simplicity. The antique vaulted ceilings and the stunning floor in white stone create a unique contrast. The comfortable sofas are just perfect for night time relaxation or for enjoying the hottest hours of the day in a pleasant and cool environment. In winter, however, the fireplace and heating produces enough heat to make you forget the negative sides of the olden days…

The place has spacious and smart bedrooms, swimming pool in the garden, superb and enormous living room with fireplace, which can be easily used for conferences and meetings, and a restaurant offering produce from the area and the farm itself. Masseria Cardillo produces its own cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil, honey, marmalade, fruit and vegetables.

The bedrooms are all beautifully furnished and have private terrace, air conditioning and spacious en suite bathroom with shower. With the intention of making the rooms appear as original as possible TVs are deliberately not part of the interior design… but they are available on request. Instead of spending time watching TV we would rather suggest a visit to the nearby old town of Matera (in Sassi), the antique Metaponto, the delightful trulli in Alberobello, or otherwise enjoy the nearby beach (5 km away)… unless you want to lie by the swimming pool here.

The grounds border an 18-hole golf course, which is within 5 minutes drive. It is also possible to go horse riding and play tennis here.
