Residence le Coloniche has all the necessary features to make a holiday in Tuscany popular. First of all the location is perfect if you want to combine culture and seaside in your holiday. There are good connections to Florence, Lucca and Pisa. The beaches by Viareggio (or one of the many other beaches) are all within a radius of 30 minutes drive.

In addition to this the buildings are from the 17th century and beautiful in true Tuscan style. The charming little medieval town of Serravalle Pistoiese is only 4 km from the farm, and closer still are bars, restaurants and shopping. The estate has 25 hectares of ground to enjoy, so there is no need to worry about lack of space.

Needless to say the estate also has a lovely big swimming pool. It is set among olive trees with views over the stunning countryside. It is possible to buy a very substantial breakfast on site (including sausage, ham, cheese, bread, cake, juice, and coffee).

The girls in the reception are extremely friendly and very happy to share their great knowledge of the area with the guests. If you want advice about where to eat, which excursions are available or any other queries you can safely go to them.

The nine apartments on the estate were converted in 2002 making everything new and well kept. The apartments are spread over two buildings and are all exceptionally spacious: The smallest apartment sleeping three would, in certain other parts of Italy, be expected to accommodate eight. The décor is typically Tuscan country style with exposed ceiling beams, terracotta floors and solid wood furniture. Although the style resembles the old country ways there is nothing missing as far as comfort goes. All the apartments have kitchen with oven and dishwasher, telephone, safe deposit box, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, satellite TV, washing machine and private heating. There are plenty of tables and chairs outside for you to enjoy the wonderful scenery while you are dining or having a quiet glass of wine. There is a large car park by the farm.
NB. We would like to draw your attention to the fact that the motor way runs in the bottom of the valley approx. 1 km from Le Coloniche, so a faint traffic hum is audible (especially by the swimming pool). You can also see the motorway in the distance, but it only takes up about 10% of the horizon.

Two room apartment Glicine (60 m²) - 1st floor

The apartment Glicine is approx. 60 m² and is situated on the first floor. It consists of a living room with kitchenette and sofa bed, bedroom with double bed plus bathroom with toilet, hairdryer and shower. By the backdoor there is a garden table and chairs, so you can eat your meals outside the apartment. Staying here you should be prepared to be disturbed once in a while, as children often pass by here on their way to the playground.

The apartment Camelia is approx. 150 m² and is on the ground floor. It consists of a big living room with fireplace and sofa bed for 2, kitchen-dining room with oven, two bedrooms with double bed and two bathrooms one with shower and one with bath tub plus toilet and hairdryer. The apartment has direct access to a terrace.

It is on two floors and consists of a big living room with kitchenette with oven and double sofa bed, another living room with fireplace and double sofa bed, two bedrooms with double bed and two bathrooms one with shower and one with bath tub plus toilet and hairdryer.

Casa in Pietra is situated in a house approx. 150 metres from the main building, and is divided into two large apartments. Casa in Pietra is approx. 180 m² and consists of a large living room with kitchenette with oven and double sofa bed, three bedrooms with double bed, bedroom with single bed and two bathrooms, one with shower and the other with bath tub plus toilet and hairdryer. On the ground floor there is a living room with fireplace. Casa in Pietra also has its own terraces on both sides of the house with table, chairs and a big barbecue..

Casa Il Pozzo (220 m²)

Casa Il Pozzo is situated in a separate house which is divided into two large lodgings. Casa il Pozzo is approx. 220 m² and is divided over two floors. On the ground floor there is a large living room with fireplace and two sofa beds, each for two people, another living room, a little reading room and a kitchen with oven. On the first floor there is a living room, three bedrooms with double bed, two bedrooms each with single bed and two bathrooms, one with shower and one with bath tub plus toilet and hairdryer. Casa Il Pozzo also has its own terraces on both sides of the house with table and chairs.
