In the hills above Poppi this beautiful old farm was admirably restored a few years ago and converted to nine spacious apartments. It is hard to say what is best about this place.

Is it the sensational views over the lush Casentina valley, the medieval town of Poppi with its picturesque castle and the towering mountains in the background? Is it the very tasteful apartments? Or is it the lovely big garden with the 16 x 8 m swimming pool? This is the place for people who want a relaxed holiday in the heart of the unspoilt beautiful countryside yet who want their holiday accommodation to include all modern comfort.

Fattoria Belvedere is less than 6 km from the fascinating medieval town of Poppi and just 1.5 km from the village of Lierna with its modest shops, bar and restaurant. The small road running past the farm means you don't have to encounter a strenuous graveled drive, and at the same time the road carries so little traffic that there is no traffic noise.

The apartments are very spacious and have comfortable beds, a well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, modern bathroom and stylish furniture. There are two large public rooms with table, chairs and fireplace for the use of guests. A short distance from the farm the owners breed the traditional Tuscan pig Cinta Senese. It is reared outdoors and its diet consists exclusively of acorns, chestnuts and other vegetable matter. It takes double the amount of time for a Cinta pig to reach slaughter age as an ordinary pig, but the meat is well worth waiting for! The sausages and ham the family produces from the meat will make your Tuscany trip even more worthwhile.
