The vineyard La Mussia is set among the gentle hills 1 km from the small town of Castelnuovo Calcea. The friendly owners decided 10 years ago to supplement their income from wine production by receiving guests in rooms that have been converted from the old buildings, and they decided to run a restaurant.

The style is rustic without any frills. Here is neither air conditioning nor mini bars in the rooms, but if you have come for a relaxing holiday on a real farm with grapes and cows, then you have come to the right place.

Here you'll find something of interest for both children and grown-ups: wood burning stone-oven if you want to try your hand at making pizza or bread, table tennis, small playground and a 14 x 6 m swimming pool, 125 cm deep, (open from 1 May till 1 October) with sun loungers and sun umbrellas for hot days.

If you haven't got the energy for excursions to the many nearby towns, including Alba, Asti and Torino, you can always go for a walk among the vineyards.
