At the same time Aosta is full of historic sights. A number of interesting castles are located in the green valleys from where events of the area were controlled in the past.
Aosta is situated between Europe´s highest mountains and is the main town in the province of Aosta. The town was founded during the Roman Empire and you can still see visual and monumental historical evidence such as the amphitheatre, the old town walls and the town church.
