During the ages several noble families have lived in Cagli. Unfortunately the many old palaces, churches (18 in total) and the town’s theatre are not in equally good states of repair. However, work has started on the restoration work of all these old treasures.
This former fishing hamlet is at the foot of Monte Conero. There was no development here for many years, because there was just a narrow footpath linking the town to the rest of the surrounding area. Nowadays though, it is a seaside town with lots of facilities for all the family.
Urbania, on the River Metauro, is a charming town with a lively cultural scene. There is a respected language school, annual literature prizes, and a thriving ceramics production that dates all the way back to the 16th century.
