The island of Capri is one of the most beautiful jewels of the Tyrrhenian Sea. The island in the bay of Naples is an exclusive destination for famous people from all over the world. It is not much bigger than 10 km² and is mostly made up of limestones shaped by the wind and sea to form mountain peaks, slopes and sensational scenery.

The climate is mild and dry and the vegetation is mainly fertile woodland, orange groves and vineyards. It is a natural environment subject to conservation laws and sustains numerous species of fauna. Most people visiting Capri start by going to Marina Grande - the departure point for all trips to the Blue Grotto (Grotta Azzurra).

From Marina Grande it is also possible to take the funicular up to the legendary piazzetta – today called Piazza Umberto I. Here you find the town hall and picturesque and friendly cafés.

From the piazzetta you can follow a narrow path to the Garden of Augustus. These gardens were created by the German plutocrat August Krupp between 1800 and 1900. From here there is a wonderful view over via Krupp, the town, Marina Piccola and the three famous rock islands.

Via Punta Tragara takes you to another view point, Belvedere Tragara, and from here you can see the slopes of mount Solaro, the impressive Castiglione and the medieval fortress.
