This is the most northern of the Aeolian islands. With its pure geometric lines, it is permanently encircled by volcanic steam. Its harbour, Ginostra, with its difficult mooring access, is one of the smallest in the world.

 When passing Sciare del Fuocco where the lava hissing and spitting comes into contact with the sea, you encounter a group of small white towns: Piscitá, Focogrande and Scari all situated around the church San Vincenzo.

 The small island Strombolicchio rises out of the sea in front of the glassy black sand. Today it appears as a fantastic sculpture shaped by nature, where fire and water once met.
