Cecina Mare, also known as Marina di Cecina, is situated on the beach just 2 km from Cecina itself. The town lies on the coast south of Livorno, between a large pine forest and the range of foothills that gently climb towards Volterra. You can reach the town either by motorway via Castiglioncello, or by train, as there is a station in Cecina.

The large pine forest is home to many birds and small animals, which are often attracted by the picnic tables. The beach is made of very fine sand and the water is often crystal clear, especially in the mornings.

A trip to the island of Elba is a natural choice (sailing from Piombino and Livorno). Other good trips that can be recommended are to Volterra, Pisa and Lucca, if you want to do something other than just lie on the beach!
