Figline is an old town in the valley between Florence and Arezzo.

The town centre was established in the period from the 13th to the 16th centuries. In the 13th century, construction of the town started with several churches. This was followed by the still visible town wall and then the larger manor houses.

There are many churches worth visiting including Chiesa di San Bartolomeo and Chiesa di San Francesco. The old town tower from the 14th century is characteristic of the town’s architecture and still in its original state, whilst the town hall was renovated and altered significantly in the 1930s.

The Serristori family hospital is one of the most popular tourist attractions. The hospital was founded in 1399 and then transferred to the current building, which dates back to the 17th century. In the loggia, there are some impressive frescos painted by Niccolò Lapi.
