If you are coming from the beach in Liguria or from central Tuscany, where you can often feel suffocated by tourists, Fivizzano is soothing for the soul!
The majority of visitors to this part of Italy are much too busy with the famous towns or beautiful beaches to come this far off the beaten track. Up here in the fresh mountain air you can really enjoy the countryside and unpolluted atmosphere to the full. Fivizzano is a delightful little town, where you get the feeling that life has been standing still for generations. There are lots of bars in the town, but the best are in beautiful premises on the central square and date back about one hundred years.
There are several restaurants in the town where you can get a really good meal for your money. If you want to visit the beach at La Spezia or visit Pisa or Lucca, it takes between 45 and 60 minutes by car.
