Torri del Benaco is another historic town in the Lake Garda district. This ancient town is named after Benacus, which was also the original name of Lake Garda.

Like many other places, the seal of the Scala family is evident on many of the old buildings, indicating that, in its heyday, the town was part of the Veronese territory.

Today, the town is noted for its small car ferry – the only car ferry on the lake – which sails between Torri del Benaco on the eastern bank and Maderno on the western. In recent years the town has had a face-lift, making it much more appealing than it has been in the past.
