Let’s just say this: Pomaia is a very small town! There are neither lots of shops or houses, in fact there is only one bar and a small grocery store. But luckily it’s not far from other towns, which can provide more facilities.
But Pomaia is well located for people wanting to combine a beach holiday with a bit of culture. The town is 14 km inland and the landscape is wonderfully hilly so you feel comfortably removed from the concrete jungle coastal towns with their hordes of tourists.
When you are not off to the beach, you can visit some of the many towns in the region. For example Siena and Florence are both about 95 km away and Pisa is just 47 km.
