You will be amidst the most divine natural surroundings when you take your holiday at Maison Tissiere. Some people open a hotel for the earning potential, others just can't help it! Guja and her family at Maison Tissiere fall into the second category. The exclusive Maison Tissiere is just 300 metres from the beautiful old church in Antey.
This traditional country house from the 1700s has retained its beautiful exterior and interior, while the Chatrian family have transformed it into the most inviting small Alpine hotel in an extremely tasteful way. When you visit you won't be surprised to hear that the owner's daughter is a trained teacher and interior / furniture designer with abundant skills regarding materials, shapes and colours.

When you step over the threshold of this beautiful alpine paradise, you will meet most likely not a loving dog but otherwise a small reception area with antique furniture. Next door is a living room with a bar, reading materials and a flat-screen TV for guests. Outside there is a beautiful lawn with loungers, pointing in the right direction to appreciate the spectacular panorama here. There is also underground parking.
The hotel's beauty centre is located in the basement and includes a large swimming pool with large glass windows that open in the summer to let in the fresh mountain air in summer, a sauna, a Turkish bath and massage (for an extra fee). The interior is designed very stylishly with exposed stone walls, exclusive wicker furniture and lots of woodwork. Again Guja's dexterity and interior design skills really come to light here.
The restaurant is a symbol of tradition and creativity combined. The carefully selected local ingredients form the basis for a menu serving traditional food from the Aosta Valley and Piedmont. The kitchen has been stylishly renovated with much creativity. The restaurant also serves as the breakfast room where guests can enjoy a rich and healthy breakfast. In the atmospheric cellar with stone vaults, you can enjoy a tasty aperitif produced with local products and enjoy some delicious appetizers, but also choose from a refined list of wines including the many of the best that the nation has to offer.
The 14 rooms have been very tastefully decorated by the owners daughter Guja, who has placed an emphasis on warm colours and woodwork. The rooms are all individually designed using quality materials and an experienced and thoughtful eye. The rooms all have access to a balcony or a private garden / terrace. Also there is an elevator so you can easily reach the other floors. The rooms have wi-fi internet and a private bathrooms with elegant designs including Marble or Brazillian slate floors, and a toilet and show with glass doors.
A lovely and spacious quality room with view towards a beautiful nature. A fantastic place, when its a bit too hot further down in Italy. We came from Cinque Terre. We used it as a starting point for trips to Mont Blanc, Matterhorn and the national park Paradiso. The place has a really good restaurant. We did not eat anywhere ells, even though we planned it. The staff was very sympathetic.
The place is pleasant, the view very beautiful, rooms spacious and comfortable. Maybe it could use a make-up-mirror in the bathroom, since the distance from the sink to the mirror is so big, that you have to lean over the sink to see yourself (I should mention that I am myopic :-) ).
The food is good but lacks a bit of fantasy. The breakfast was very sweet, but you can choose boiled eggs. Non-Italians would probably appreciate some cheese or ham. The spa is very comfortable, and it was nice that there was fruit.
We didn't see much of the owner, but his father was always there, and he always had good advice. The staff is charming. The common areas are very comfortable and beautifully decorated.
We had a lovely holiday, and we don't hesitate with recommending this place for those who love peace and quiet.
Really cozy, nice rooms, very welcoming hosts. Gode options to choose from on the menu if you want to avoid gluten.
