Courmayeur is porbably one of the most attractive ski areas in Valle d’ Aosta. It is is a charming old little town and is mostly known as a mountain climbing centre for the Mont Blanc mountain. It is also know as a bit of an upmarket town. The center houses stylish boutiques, cosy bars and good restaurants. At the other side of the mountain you find Chamonix, one of France most famous ski resorts. After the second world war Courmayeur started to develop itself as a ski resort. The pistes around Courmayeur reach an elevation of 2755 meters and from the Cresta Youla cable car, you have about 100 km of pistes at your feet. Few ski areas are so diverse as this area. From the hotel ,the Courmayeur cable car is only 100 meters away.
