Nature surprises you again and again! Marina di Marittima allows you to discover a beautiful interlude of calm in nature, close to the larger resorts of Salento. Marina di Leuca, Otranto and Gallipoli are all three to less than 50km from here.
The coastline here is very rugged and beautiful and the sea is usual very clear with views to the bottom of the seabed. Along the coast here you can find many paths that lead to picturesque coves covered with interesting vegetation.
Marina di Marittima is also known for the range of Aquaviva, deep gorges of 200 metres which are easily accessible on foot via a footpath. If you swim there, you will find places with fresh water points. The turquoise water, surrounded by pine trees, the scent of the sea mixed with the maquis and the song of cicadas make it a unique place. You can park your car at the top of the rocks at the trailhead.
Marina di Marittima does not offer a restaurant, which helps keep wild features, but you will find some restaurants just 2km away in Castro by the sea or in the centre of Marittima, further inland. In the village of Marittima, you will find a small supermarket.
