Martina Franca is an interesting town with a beautiful historic center and pedestrian streets and small piazzas. The baroque architecture is very significantly present in the Old Town.
In the small streets you will find a variety of interesting restaurants, shops, cafes and attractions, all contribute to the good atmosphere that prevails in the city. The center is surrounded by a city wall with 24 towers. These are the most important sustained monuments of the 17th century, Palazzo Ducale and the baroque churches of Sant' Antonio, San Domenico and Chiesa del Carmine.
Part of the historic center is closed to traffic, making it pleasant to stroll around town.
Martina Franca is located barely 430 meters high, so it facilitates good views of the valley around the city and other historical cities nearby such as Locorotondo.
