In the area surrounding the town of Mammola you can find the sanctuary Santuario di San Nicodemo from the 10th century. Furthermore you find the remains af Normanner castle from the 11th century and a number of churches completely dating back to the middle ages.
Between the towns of Cittanova and canolo you pass "Passo del Mercante" from where you can have a fabulous view out over the countryside and the nature reserve and last but not least, the Ionian Sea and the Tirrhenian Sea.
