All cities in Aspromonte Nature Reserve
The nature reserve is not just great in its natural beauty, also the more cultural ones. The area contains 37 municipalities, all in the province of Reggio Calabria. Almost every municipality organises one or more festivals annually with both an Historic and gastronomic character.
In the area surrounding the town of Mammola you can find the sanctuary Santuario di San Nicodemo from the 10th century. Furthermore you find the remains af Normanner castle from the 11th century and a number of churches completely dating back to the middle ages.
Between the towns of Cittanova and canolo you pass "Passo del Mercante" from where you can have a fabulous view out over the countryside and the nature reserve and last but not least, the Ionian Sea and the Tirrhenian Sea.

In-Italia offers stays in and on the edge of the nature reserve. Here also festivals are held, for example, d. 6/12 in CIMINA, where the city's patron saint (Saint Nicholas of Bari) is celebrated, while Gerace keeps Easter processions in July (15/7) is held all done in traditional costumes. The first week in August is dedicated to the visiting tourists, where several events takes place and various stalls are set. Also Locri helds several festivals; one in early July and three in middle / end of August.
