The town Ascea with its districts Ascea, Mandia, Catona and Terradura is located in the heart of the Cilento. Located at the end of the Velia valley, in particular Ascea with its 7 km long fine sand beach at the south end Scogliera is widely known as a seaside resort. Ascea is also ideal as a starting point for hikes to the hinterland. There is also a train station, so that one is not dependent on a car for trips to Naples, Paestum, Pompeii or Herculaneum.
