The hotel just lies perfectly in the middle of everything you want to see. You can practically walk to everything - we only used the metro, funicular, and bus very little. Everything works in the hotel room and hotel, like that. There's a kettle, mini bar(with street prices!!), safe and hair dryer and bathtub for the sore bodies and feet after a long hike through the city. Breakfast is delivered to your room, if you wish- but otherwise there is an okay breakfast in the rooms on the 1st floor. Nice bathroom with lots of water in the faucet s, and we enjoyed the great terrace, where the street noise barely doesn't make it up. There's quiet at night, and you can safely leave the door open
Recommendations for future guests
Take the limousine service from the airport for 71 euros, where everything is well spent. It is a long walk from Teatro San Carlo with your bag, since it is in the middle of a street full of people, and it goes up trough the small streets, where you can easily loose overview to begin with. The hotel is marked with a stairway from Via Toledo and has a big sign on the street itself.
Good idea to but a map of the city, before you arrive, so you can orient yourself.(The hotels map isn't particularly good, but is nice to have in your pocket. The tourists offices free map is okay, if you haven't gotten one prior too arriving). Also the Artecarte on the internet, since there is a lot of money to save on transport and entrances to museums. 21 euros for a 3 days map has quickly payed for itself, since a ticket for the metro/bus is 1,50 euros and entrance to the archaeological museum is 13 euros. Naples is a big city, and it pays too plan your attractions. Take the funicular op and save your legs (It lies hidden in the back of the street picture on Via Tolendo between the hotel and Teatro San Carlo).
Our greatest experience was Capella San Severo and the view from the monastery San martone certosa .
And if you like Christmas mangers, Naples is a paradise. But otherwise is the population and the whole street "theatre" just amazing. Almost all of the restaurants and shops take credit cards, so there is no reason to be walking around with money and be afraid of getting robbed. We didn't experience that Naples was more dirty than Rome for example, and not less safe. You might wanna think about a zipper for your bags and such, like always in big cities. There is good and cheap restaurants everywhere, and also close to the hotel in the small streets (and of course tourists traps where you pay a bit too much - but we didn't get any bad food).
