Praiano is a small fantastic cliff face town just 5 km from Positano and is one of the most exclusive and romantically charming fishing towns on the Amalfi coast. White houses stand on the green slopes and you can witness the most amazing sunset. The water is crystal clear and excellent for snorkelling.

It is considered by the locals as the little sister of Positano, and many travellers venture to visit it during the high season because of it's famed charm. Praiano is divided into two parts. The main town is situated along the coastal road, where there is an exciting church, several small local shops, and a small harbour and a small beach. A number of events are held on the grounds outside this church held during the year, especially those of a musical nature. But there is also a Mare Praiano - otherwise known also as 'Marina di Praia' which is a very small town located right down on the waters edge. It is one of the most romantic fishing villages on the Amalfi Coast - and a place where locals like to come and swim from the beach, basking between the small fishing boats. There are also several very pleasants restaurants in the town.

The water is crystal clear and excellent for snorkelling. The beautiful old watchtower is really worth a visit as is the marvellous old church of St Luke. This part of Praiano is also home to one of Amalfi's most famous nightclubs which is housed in a natural cave. There is an amazing pathway leading the nightclub which runs from the town around the cliffs and down to the sea cave. Even if you don't want to go to the nightclub, it's worth a trek during the day.
