The only sounds you will hear are those of the waves lapping at the rocks below and the birds in the trees. you can take a dip down below in the sea, or up at the pool and in between you will find many fascinating nooks in rocks with amazing sea views,

Enjoy a breathtaking location

The main attraction of the place is the old Norman tower around which the whole complex has been built. The three buildings have been built into the cliffs below the road. The fantastic location means that the only sounds that you hear are the waves lapping against the rocks, and every corner of the area is like a fairy tale with a picture-perfect view towards the sea and the impressive coastline.

Learn about the noble history

Villa Scarpariello is now owned by Prince Luigi D'Angerio from Sant 'Agata, who stays at the villa from time to time for short or longer periods. The tower itself is a small museum that contains information of Scarpariellos fascinating history (the tower is not open to site visitors - but one can always hope that the staff will have compassion and let you have a peek!).

Famous visitors

Villa Scarpariello has been the setting for many interesting events. It was here that the Italian King Vittorio Emanuele III in 1944 gave power to his son Umberto - and it was also here that Jacqueline Kennedy enjoyed a vacation with her children in 1962, and on a later occasion instead with her husband John F. Kennedy.

Stay in vacation paradise

Today, Villa Scarpariello has a selection of apartments and rooms for rent (see Hotel Villa Scarpariello) and is managed by the same family that owns the nearby Hotel Villa San Michele. Only a few years ago it was all almost a ruin, but through hard work they managed to transform the villa into a vacation paradise yet respecting the history and tradition of the original building.

Explore the Amalfi Coast

Villa Scarpariello has a small reception desk, parking (on the opposite side of the coastal road), a swimming pool with sea water and common terraces where breakfast is available (for a fee). Guests can rent a small speedboat from the villa, so you can explore the fascinating Amalfi Coast with its numerous small beaches and spectacular caves. The nearest towns along the coast are Amalfi - approx. 1.5 km, and 1.7 km to Minori.

Apartments with sea views

All apartments are equipped with a balcony or terrace with sea views, satellite TV, telephone, air conditioning, bathroom with shower or bath and toilet, kitchen with stove and refrigerator. Because of the location on the rocks and hillside, Villa Scarpariello is not suitable for the disabled. There are many narrow pathways and steps around the grounds.
