A perfect position
Hotel Continental Mare is located on Ischia North shores in parkland at about a 5 minute walk from the port and about a 10 minutes walk down the steep stairs to the beach. The village takes about a 20 minutes walk and here you find plenty of bars, shops and restaurants. There is also a bus stop at 100 meters if you rather take the local bus.
Life at Ischia is slow and easy to overview. The main share of the visitors is coming to Ischia for its beaches, sea and the legendary healing properties of its thermal springs. Around the Volcanic landscape of the island you can find natural springs and steaming geysers.
The green hilly landscape, where also Hotel Continental Mare is located in, offers an attractive landscape. Driving around the island by bus or car, you will find plenty of slow and fairly authentic fishing villages to pass by and have a drink. Or check one of the local restaurants where you might find Ischia’s famous delicacy braised rabbit. The other large attraction is the beaches. At the island you find about 28 kilometer of golden sandy beaches with lovely views over oak and beech woods.
Two thermal pools
Hotel Continental Mare has a privileged position as it is perched on a cliff top overlooking the Bay of Naples. The view is quite breathtaking and from the restaurant and the thermal pools, you just need to position your chair or sunbed in the right position, to dream away with the view and silence. The two thermal pools complement the island philosophy and from both you have a great view.

The spa and wellness are offered at a sister hotel nearby and features therapeutic treatments like fangotherapy, which uses mineral-rich mud for warm baths, body wraps and massages. A free shuttle bus can take you there.

Diner in the garden
The green garden is just lovely and this is exactly where you want to hang out if you are not out. The day at Continental Mare starts well with a lovely breakfast that can be enjoyed out on the garden terrace. And when you like this is exactly the place where lunch and diner can be eaten. There is also an option of eating in the restaurant, depending on the weather and the season. The cuisine serves dishes from the Campania region and is mostly focused on fresh fish. During the day you enjoy light snacks and refreshments from the bar.
All together we can state that facilities and services at Hotel Continental Mare are at a good level. It is not the cheapest hotel on the island, however probably one with the best views. In case you might want to be online, WiFi internet facilitated throughout at the public zones of the hotel against a surcharge.
Traditional rooms
Hotel Continental Mare features a total of 63 rooms. The rooms are housed in a series of small whitewashed houses and the inside appears a bit old fashioned yet this the traditional style, whether you like or dislike. The comfort very reasonable and different room types are available. At least all room types feature: air conditioner, telephone, sat TV, minibar, safe and bathroom with shower and hairdryer.
