Located on the beautiful and romantic island of Procida, Hotel La Casa sul Mare is housed in former military barracks in the island's historic district Marina di Corricella - just around a 700 metre walk from the harbour. From here you can easily go island hopping from Naples (25km).
The hotel is ideal for couples without children for several reasons: The steep location is not particularly child-friendly and it also only has one room where an extra bed can be added. In addition, the location is very romantic in the middle of a picturesque fishing village with a dazzling view over the Mediterranean, which can be enjoyed from the private terrace. Finally, the hotel has a small garden with panoramic views where breakfast can be taken when the weather permits.

Next to the hotel you will also find several film sets from the Oscar-winning film Il Postino (postman), including the post office and the family-run bar. The nearest beach is approx. 1km away from where you can sail on the hotel's private boat for a fee. On this beach (both public and private with beach services) is a beach bar which is open during the summer. The hotel can prepare sandwiches to take with you on tour or to the beach.
The hotel is located high in relation to the sea and the promenade and you can either use the stairs to get down, or take the the winding road Via Carmine. The road to and from the ferry landing is approx. 700 m without a stair option. When you first arrive at the hotel you will enter into the reception and immediately appreciate the hotels specific marine style and decoration in mostly blue and white.
The hotel breakfast room is located downstairs next to the enclosed garden. Here, breakfast is served buffet-style, offering a postcard-like view of the sea through a porthole. You can choose to eat inside or outside in the shade of the garden, which also has views of the town and the sea. The breakfast room and the garden are both very charming and definitely highlights of the hotel.
We prolonged our stay at Procida because of how wonderful it is. Hotel La Casa sul Mare is an important factor in making it an unforgettable experience. Because of a cancellation the hostess offered us another room. It turned out to have an even more breathtaking view from the lovely and spacious terrace. The host, Franco, served us a great breakfast with fruit from the island, good coffee, freshly squeezed juice and cornetto (croissants filled with lemon cream). The hotel only has 9 rooms, which makes it cosy and intimate, and Franco and staff makes sure there is a familiar mood and makes sure to help out with good tips for sights and things to do on the island.
The rooms are big and spacious, has a good, big bed, and there is a good fridge and a well functioning air condition. They also clean everyday, if you want them to.
We were very impressed by La Casa Sul Mare and look forward to coming back.
