The neighbourhood of Rivazzurra is a part of modern Rimini’s coastal area, where the young flock to enjoy the thriving nightlife from late in the evening until the early morning hours. Rimini is a large holiday resort, which has a lovely historical centre, an active fishing port, several kilometres of organised beach, loads of shops, restaurants and bars, as well as famous and very popular nightclubs.  In short, there’s a lot happening in Rimini! The nightlife is fabulous and there’s something going on from early evening till after dawn. There are also some fantastic restaurants away from the coast. This is one of the largest and best-known holiday resorts – even the Italians themselves love to visit Rimini– so the month of August is totally chaotic. If you have seen Fellini’s film, Amacord, which was filmed around Rimini, his childhood home, you can still spot lots of places that appear in the film.  The beaches are good and child-friendly. You can also windsurf, water ski and do other water sports. If you travel away from the coast you find beautiful scenery inland. San Marino is just one hour’s drive away, and the marvellous university town of Urbino in the highlands of the neighbouring province of Marche can also be reached in less than two hours.
