Hotel Villa Florida - Suites & Suite Apartments

The location and parking are good. Lots of activities available just in the area. Hope to swim in the pool but too many steps down so if that is not an issue, than it is a great area. Swimming in the lake is steps from that. Great breakfast. Apartment was comfortable and views are wonderful. E... njoyed spending time on the deck in the evening as exploring all day. Closeby restaurants. Area itself if beautiful with very large hotels with plush landscaping. Ferry is nearby.Read more

Le Case di Berto

beautiful location with private beach. However, in our case the weather was a little off, we had 2 playing children above us in a house and the cliff was in dire straits to be pruned and readied for the tourist season. Both the children as well as the pruning completely disturbed the peace and quiet... we came for. All things combined, we left early...

When our car did not work anymore we did get enormous good help from the people on the estate however so we're not complaining. Just stating a fact.

Recommendation: keep the property adult only... -;)

Casa Verdiana

We spent a wonderful relaxing 6 days here. The house had everything we needed and there were no hidden surprises. Our hosts that met us at check in were very helpful and we were able to use the information pack and maps to plan our days out. It is perfectly situated close enough to town to walk to r... estaurants/supermarket/cafes and has a stunning view from the front balcony. The pool was far too cold to go into at this time of year (though the kids did try it!), but it was great to eat al fresco and enjoy the scenery and peace.Read more

Residence Ca' Bottrigo

Overall we were very happy with our stay in Ca' Bottrigo. We booked a 2-bed apartment which was actually a one-bed and a studio combined. The studio (5M) was on the first floor and had wonderful views over the lake; the adjoining one-bed apartment (5A) was fine but faced the back of the buildi... ng with a disappointing/non-existent view and the kitchen/living area was small particularly as we were also using it as a sleeping area. There are 10 units in the building and there were a mixture of families staying there; couples of varying ages, some with babies, not many older children. The pool was often empty, even in August, and there were plenty of sun-loungers, tables and chairs. Parking can be a little 'tight' but manageable. The 15 minute walk in to Bardolino is relatively flat and pleasant but there is no street lighting on the road by Ca'Bottrigo so a torch was useful. We missed the fact there wasn't any air-conditioning although the local agents provided us with one fan which was invaluable. Being on the first floor we also opened the windows wide at night as there was usually a good breeze coming down from the hill - this might not have been an option on the ground floor. No cleaning was provided in our apartment during our two-week stay which surprised us - also we had hired towels and sheets but these were not changed which was disappointing. WiFi was excellent throughout our stay.Read more

Villa I Poggioli

From the moment she instantly answered our emailed questions before our stay, we knew Rosella would be an excellent host. She communicated with us a few days before our reservation started, greeted us on arrival with brochures on the region and unobtrusively periodically during the week asked if we ... needed any help or more information. Checking out was simple and Rossella gave us a warm goodbye.

Our apartment was exactly as described on the website. It was sparkling clean and fully equipped. The large terrace at the rear of the house was a Garden of Eden, with our own private spot just outside our door.

Villa I Poggioli is in our experience the perfect location to explore Bocca di Magra on foot and further away by car. The villa is a short walk to the harbor and beach but on a quiet residential street. Carrara is a short drive into Tuscany and La Spezia's main train station is also an easy drive for a visit to Cinque Terre.

We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at I Poggioli, and highly recommend that anyone considering a holiday in the region take advantage of Rossella's hospitality.

Villa Franca

Villa Franca is in a lovely location with fantastic views. We were very disappointed with the restaurant on site as it stated on their website that they specialise in fish dishes and did pizza and meat dishes this was not true they literally did fish dishes only. There was also tables by the pool ... so because the restaurant did not open in the day we decided on the days that we stayed in and hung around the pool that we would take our lunch we did not make any mess and put all our rubbish in the bin provided after the second time of doing this we noticed signs were put up on the tables that no food was allowed by the pool this was also another disappointment. There was also no sun beds at pool only chairs which made it very uncomfortable to sun bathe we had to buy our own.

The apartment was 3 bedroom which was very nice but did need some improvements there was also no air conditioning or even any sort of fans it was very uncomfortable in the evening when it was time for bed and we did not get much sleep.

So even though it was a beautiful location we would not return to villa Franca as it stands now.

Villaggio Lido

The accommodation is simple, quiet (most times - only sometimes other visitors at the Villagio Lido do not allways obey the rules), but good - close to the beach (app. 500 m) and near to restaurants and a few shops. Very good and big pool - beach access is included.
