The town of Capoliveri sits proudly on the islands southern coast, just a few kilometres south of Portoferraio. It overlooks large parts of the island and its beautiful scenery. The town is authentic, cosy and oozes atmosphere and holiday charm.

Capoliveri has everything you could want from a tourist town on Elba; small squares with cafes and restaurants, old pedestrian streets with shops and local producers who sell their tasty products such as dessert wine Aleatico. Furthermore there are good parking facilities. In the bays around the town, there are several beautiful beaches that are a focal point for all kinds of outdoor activities.

Sights around Capoliveri that are worth a mention include the church Madonna delle Grazie. The church is located 2 km outside Capoliveri - if you are fit, it's a beautiful walk along the medieval path from Via Circonvallazione del borgo, but coming back is all up hill! Unfortunately, as with so many other monuments on the island, they are rarely open to the public. This church is open on the 8th December, which is the church's feast day, in addition to (usually) Saturdays during the summer months when there are various exhibitions.
