The trip offers numerous lookouts, photogenic natural scenes and paths down to the underlying beaches. Of course there is the possibility to swim in the crystal blue sea from a snow-white sandy beach or soft gray rocky outcrop that lies on the sea surface. The beaches Cavoli and Fetovaia near Campo nell'Elba should be some of the island's most breathtaking. The road will for some produce rejoice squeal, while for others it will be a bit challenging, partly due to its many hairpin turns. Partly though, as it indeed follows the tip of Monte Capanne and is only cut off from the sea by steep slopes.
The trip takes no additional traffic, only an hour to travel, but we recommend that you make an excursion out of the trip and do some well-deserved pitstops to swim, enjoy nature and eat a light lunch or a juicy ice cream in small hamlets, when coming through.
