Ortano is a small bay, located in Rio dell'Elbas municipality. The bay is very picturesque with a small rocky island just off the beach. The nearest town is Rio Marina, located approx. 4 km from here. Otherwise, it is approx. 15 km from Porto Azzuro and about. 20 km from Portoferraio.
Ortano is part of the coast where there is a holiday resort called Ortano Mare. It's not actually a town. However, at the holiday resort you will find a small supermarket, two restaurants, a diving centre and boat rental.
