Civita Castellana is just 40 minutes drive north of Rome. Trains from Civita Castellana run regularly into Rome making it the ideal destination for visitors who want both to visit Rome and to enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside. Civita Castellana is also very close to Viterbo and the southernmost part of Umbria and Tuscany.

Worth visiting: - Fortezza Sangallo, a fortress which today houses the Museo dell'Agro Falisco where the archaeological finds from the area are exhibited (closed on Mondays). - Falerii Novi (free access): the ruins of the city are fully accessible to the public and you can still see Jupiter gate that led to the inner city, as well as traces of the city's roads and its amphitheatre.
